The Close Protection Diploma Programs curriculum is designed around 21 classes with the proper balance of general and specific subjects, which provide the students with a broad background in both theory and practical application. The program is supplemented by a broad acquaintance with related subjects.

Part 1: Lessons 1-7
✓ Protective Duties
This lesson will give an understanding of the duties including proper protocol in client dealings, threat assessments, creating client profiles, threat profiles, and security dealings.
✓ Residential Security
This lesson give an understanding of the proper procedures for determining the level of security needed for the specific areas of a client’s residence as well as maintaining and continuing that security.
✓ Hotel Security
This lesson will give an understanding of proper security procedures for the client while the client is traveling.
✓ Route Selection
This lesson will give an understanding on the planning of different routes, the route selection, and advising client of the basic safety rules for the travels the client makes.
✓ Standard Operating Procedures
This lesson will give an understanding of the proper guidelines for the established procedures for the SOP for different scenarios from everyday routines to emergency situations.
✓ Advance Reconnaissance
This lesson will give an understanding on how to properly gather information, evaluate and analyze the information, and proceed with a final security plan of a site that will be visited by the client.
✓ OODA
This lesson will give an understanding on how to observe and act in a split second time frame in hostile situations.
Part 2: Lessons 8-14
✓ Weapons
This lesson will give a basic knowledge on the familiarization of weapons used by both operatives and the opposition, an explanation of advanced gun techniques, safety regulations, unconventional firearms, as well as, what can really happen in a weapons fight.
✓ Optical Devices
This lesson will give an understanding on the various optical devices available and the purpose of each.
✓ Baton Techniques
This lesson will give a basic understanding of the use of the baton for offensive and defensive protection, and the different kinds of batons.
✓ Arrest & Cuffing Techniques
This lesson will give a basic understanding of how to properly handle a suspect that must be detained, and the rules to follow.
✓ Unarmed Combat
This lesson will give a basic understanding for the CP officer, working an unarmed assignment, on how to protect a client. This lesson will brief the student on how protect the client in a situation when weapons are not feasible.
✓ Terrorists
This lesson will give an understanding on the different terrorist groups, terrorist motives, common terrorist activities, and negotiating techniques.
✓ Vehicle Search
This lesson will give an understanding on how to properly conduct a vehicle search, what to look for to effectively prevent the opposition from planting any IED’s or tracking devices under, on, or inside the vehicle, and how to locate these items.
✓ Explosives
This lesson will give an understanding on how to handle bomb scare situations and evacuation procedures, as well as the different types of explosives, how to prepare for bomb incidents, IED constructions, description of what some improvised explosive devices may look like, and search equipment and techniques.
✓ Ballistic Armor
This lesson will give an understanding in the various types of ballistic armor, and a list of items that will penetrate the armor.
✓ First Aid
This lesson gives a basic understanding in first aid in order to take care of and help themselves, client and fellow operatives if they are wounded. The do’s and don’ts when administering first aid for various injures and response to same.
✓ Team & Cover Techniques
This lesson gives an understanding of the different team positions and techniques utilized in order to protect clients, different protection positions to follow depending on the situation and the threat.
✓ Vehicle Tactics
This lesson will give an understanding on the purpose of vehicle positions and tactics in the protection of the client when traveling.
✓ Team Counter Surveillance
This lesson will give an understanding of simple but effective surveillance techniques and how covert surveillance can be used against the operative.
✓ Countermeasures
Various devices, description of everyday non-descript electronic spy equipment, electronic sweeps/ searches, where to look for passive devices, where to search for electronic eavesdropping equipment.
